The Region of Extremadura (Spain) once again bets on the professional actions of Termatalia and collaborates with the 2nd International Congress on Water and Health that is held in a hybrid format in Ourense between September 15 and 17, 2021. This collaboration will also allow the Spas of Extremadura to hold business meetings with the 23 tour operators that participate in the specialized Workshop on Health and Wellness Tourism that Termatalia also organizes on the same dates.

The thermal waters of Extremadura have relieved the fatigue of travelers for centuries. The spas in this region offer much more than remedies for certain ailments. They have become authentic wellness centers, places to rest and enjoy nature, culture and gastronomy. With waters declared of public utility, specialized attention and high heritage value, Extremadura’s thermal centers are an excellent option to take care of yourself and relax. From Turismo de Extremadura they propose a tour of thermal Extremadura from the north to the south of the region, without straying too far from the Vía de la Plata. Your first stop is the Valle del Ambroz, where you can find the Balnearios de Baños de Montemayor, which preserves a Roman bath, and El Salugral, in Hervás, a town that stands out for its well-preserved Jewish quarter.

Not far away, in Valdastillas, is the Valle del Jerte Spa, located in a region that dresses in white every spring with the flowering of a million and a half cherry trees. The Fuentes del Trampal Spa, right on the border between Cáceres and Badajoz, is in the Montánchez area, known for its wonderful Iberian ham.

Further south, without losing sight of the Vía de la Plata, you reach Alange, whose Roman baths form part of the Mérida archaeological complex, a World Heritage Site since 1993. Its spa preserves some baths from the 3rd century integrated into modern facilities.

The itinerary ends at the El Raposo Spa, in Puebla de Sancho Pérez, well located to get to know towns with a lot of heritage and good Iberian ham, such as Zafra, Jerez de los Caballeros, Llerena and Azuaga.
