The Workshop specialized in Health and Wellness Tourism concludes with 800 business appointments

Ourense, 11/25/2020.- The Workshop specialized in health and wellness tourism organized by Termatalia and which brought together 30 international tour operators concludes with 800 business appointments in which the tourism offer has been shaped of health that will be commercialized in 2021 at the time of the tourist reactivation. It is the first tourism recruitment exchange to be held in a hybrid format with face-to-face b2b meetings, a hybrid between face-to-face and virtual or directly virtual. The objective of this workshop was to contribute to bringing together the marketing value chain, to design new offers for the next year 2021, seeking collaboration between the different companies to find synergies that add up when facing the uncertainty experienced by the Tourism at the moment.

This activity has put in contact the supply and demand in health tourism of destinations such as Galicia, Extremadura, Murcia, Portugal and Argentina. The tour operators who participated in the workshop and who came from 6 countries (Spain, Argentina, Germany, Peru, Colombia and Brazil) met with Galician companies that market quality products based on health and well-being such as spas, centers thalassotherapy, receptive travel agencies, hotels and also with specialized guides, wineries, houses and rural tourism experiences, in addition to the complementary offer.

The tour operators participating in this workshop see many possibilities in health tourism in the current context, since it is a sector in which specialization, segmentation and safety prevail; that combines perfectly with other products such as rural or nature tourism and that is integrated into the proximity tourism offer that is currently what the tourist requests. These circumstances increase the capacity of health tourism to mobilize travelers for the 2021 campaign. In the current context of health crisis, health tourism will be strengthened as tourists will increasingly worry about seeking destinations that at the same time that a period of rest and enjoyment can help them to contribute to a healthy and preventive lifestyle.

The fifteen tour operators that participate in person in this workshop, having traveled to Expourense from different parts of Spain, will continue tomorrow with the workshop activities that include visits to different points of interest in the Ribeiro O Carballiño Geodestination, in the province of Ourense.

This workshop has had the main support of Tourism of Galicia to which Tourism of the Region of Extremadura, Tourism of the Region of Murcia have joined through the Cluster Costa Cálida Cares, Tourism Porto and North of Portugal, the Institute for Tourism Promotion of Argentina - INPROTUR, and the Ribeiro O Carballiño Geodestination.

After the International Congress on Water and Health held in September and the 1st Ibero-American Summit on Public Policies on Thermalism in October, this workshop was the third of the professional actions developed by Termatalia to continue contributing to the development of world spas after having had to cancel its edition this year due to the pandemic.
